Apple’s A4 chip

I have no clue about computer chip design and manufacturing. So I Trolled venture beat's reade with a challenge: Explain to me how Apple’s switch from third-party chip manufacturers to its own in-house design for the A4 chip that powers the new iPad tablet computer makes the i pad better, either for Apple or for i pad

Former Apple employee Prabhakar Kotla sent me not one snappy answer, but ten of them.

“Instead of looking at A4 in a linear way you must think in a multi dimensional way.

* A4 consumes less power than most of the chips (you can look up for a video comparing ARM cortex and Intel) for processing speeds.

HTC latest Smart Phone

HTC latest Smart Phone

could be with us in a matter of weeks judging by new images that have popped up online. Read on for more juicy details…

The HTC Legend first appeared in the much talked about 2010 htc product leaked towards the end of last year. At the time, we commented that its “11.4mm thich aluminium unibody, 3.2in OLED screen and clickable optical pad make this a seriously good-looking device. There’s more than a little Hero-esque styling going on here”.

Since then, it’s been accepted that the HTC Legend will in fact be a direct replacement for the Hero. And given the very-much-finished look of the phone in the latest spy pics, along with the original roadmap’s suggested March release date, suggests the Legend could be with us very soon.

The picture shows a handset clearly running HTC’s Sense UI, and the Taiwanese giant appears to be following BlackBerry’s lead in ditching the round trackball for an optical trackpad.

As for the rest, past leaks suggest a 3.2in OLED touchscreen – which looks about right given the latest pics – and a 600MHz processor designed for agility rather than the raw power of the ubiquitous 1GHz Snapdragon.

Latest Helping Robot
Remember my post about the beer traker. Where in it counts every beer you’ve opened? Now there’s a new harislatesttechnology which is somehow related to beer drinking, known as heinken boot. This latest technology was made by the folks at Middlesex University. It features human moves like raising hands above, then you just need to wave your hand over it, and its tap will glow. That is the sign for the customers to put their cup on its holder, and it fills the cup afterwards. I’m not sure how the Heineken Robot knows if the cup is full. Maybe it uses advanced technology that fast food chain uses in filling up sodas. After he serves up your order, he continues to wander along a pre-programmed path, waiting for other customers to take their orders.

All iPhone 4G Rumors Roundup

Now that Apple has confirmed the Jan. 27th Special Event, it’s time to move on from the ‘Tablet’ rumors and look for something new that is cooking at the Cupertino campus. And the only thing that hits our eye is the iPhone 4G.
The folks at the French website Nowhere Else have made a visual rumor sheet of the iPhone 4G with annotations (Click on the image to enlarge). Much like the Tablet rumors sheet shared by us earlier, the annotations basically describe the nature of a rumor and its likeliness to happen in terms of a percentage.

OLED display, 5-megapixel camera, front-facing camera and a dual-core processor are some of the rumors that seem highly probable to be included in the new iPhone 4G and as for a removable battery, not very much.

It is expected of Apple to unveil the iPhone OS 4.0 on Jan. 27th at the Special Event along with the new Apple Tablet. However the iPhone 4G is expected to be launched somewhere between May and July.
